By accessing, using and/or downloading materials from this site, you agree on your own behalf and on behalf of each entity and person on whose behalf you act to abide by the terms and conditions set forth below. Exile reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting changes online and it is your responsibility to refer to and comply with these terms on accessing the site. If there is any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and rules and/or specific terms of use appearing on this site relating to specific material then the latter shall prevail.

Copyright and Other Intellectual Property

The names, images and logos identifying Exile, or third parties and their products and services are proprietary marks of Exile, its associated organisations and/or third parties. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as conferring by implication, estoppel or otherwise any licence or right under any trade mark or patent of Exile, its associated organisations or any other third party.

All copyright, trade marks and other intellectual property rights in this site (including the design, arrangement and look and feel) and all material or content supplied as part of the site shall remain at all times the property of the Exile, its associated organisations and/or third parties. In accessing the Exile site, you agree that you do so only for, non-commercial use. • Fair use

"Are there exceptions for criticism, review or news reporting?

Yes. In each case the exception is limited by the condition that there must be "fair dealing". It is therefore very unlikely that more than a short extract of a work could be used for the purposes of criticism, review or news reporting. Use of more than this will need the permission of the copyright owner. Slightly different conditions apply to criticism and review and news reporting:

Fair dealing with a work for the purposes of criticism or review of that or another work must include a sufficient acknowledgement and the work must have been made available to the public.

Fair dealing with a work for the purpose of reporting current events also requires sufficient acknowledgment, except where the reporting is by means of a sound recording, film or broadcast no acknowledgement is required where this is impossible for reasons of practicality or otherwise. NB: Photographs are excluded from this news reporting exception."
